Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 September 2026 · Effective: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
The short version
AskUs247 connects you with independent tradespeople and specialists who give general information. It does not provide medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.
Membership renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account. Section 6 explains exactly how billing works.
1Agreeing to these terms
These Terms are a contract between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“AskUs247”, “we”, “us”), which operates askus247.com. By using the site, asking a question, or buying a membership, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
2What the service is
AskUs247 is an information platform. You describe a problem, we route it to an independent professional who has been credential-checked, and they respond with general information and guidance in a chat thread. Categories include veterinary, automotive, electrical, appliance, home repair, tax and technical questions.
We provide the platform and the matching. We do not provide the professional service itself, and we do not supervise, direct or endorse any individual Expert's answer.
3What it is not
- Not an emergency service. Do not use AskUs247 for anything urgent or dangerous. Call your local emergency number, or the relevant emergency utility or service.
- Not medical, legal or financial advice. We do not offer those services in any category, and Experts are instructed not to answer such questions. If you ask one, expect to be told to speak to a qualified professional instead.
- Not a professional engagement. Using the service does not make an Expert your retained tradesperson, contractor or adviser, and does not create any professional relationship or duty of care.
- Not a substitute for someone attending in person. An Expert cannot inspect your property, your vehicle or your animal. Answers are general information based only on what you typed. Always have work carried out by a suitably qualified and, where required, licensed person.
Acting on an answer
You decide what to do with the information you receive. Any action you take, or do not take, on the basis of an Expert’s answer is your own decision and your own responsibility.
4Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. The service is intended for users in [TERRITORY, e.g. the United States]. You may not use it if we have previously suspended you.
5Your account
Keep your login details private and accurate, and tell us promptly at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
6Membership, billing and cancellation
What you are signing up for
Opening a chat requires a membership. When you subscribe you are enrolling in a recurring subscription that renews automatically until you cancel.
| Term | Detail |
| Introductory charge | [$X] for the first [N] days |
| Then | [$XX] every [month] |
| Renews | Automatically, on the same date each period |
| Cancel by | Any time before the next renewal date |
| How to cancel | [Account settings → Membership → Cancel], or email [SUPPORT EMAIL] |
We will show these figures again on the payment screen before you are charged, and email you a confirmation with the same detail afterwards.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time and you do not have to phone anyone to do it. Cancellation stops the next renewal; your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. We will email you to confirm.
Refunds
[STATE YOUR REFUND POLICY. For example: “If you are unhappy with your first answer, email us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund that payment in full. Renewal charges are refundable within 7 days if you have not used the service during that period.”]
Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have under consumer law in your state or country.
Price changes and failed payments
If we change the price, we will email you at least [30] days before it applies, and you can cancel before then. If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend access until it clears.
7About the Experts
Experts are independent contractors, not our employees, agents or partners. Before an Expert takes questions we check their claimed licence against the issuing body, screen their identity, and review their early answers. We re-check periodically and remove Experts whose ratings fall below our threshold.
That process reduces risk; it does not make us responsible for the substance of an answer. We do not guarantee that any answer is accurate, complete, current or suitable for your situation, and we do not endorse any Expert's opinion. An Expert's stated credentials describe their qualifications, not a promise by us about the outcome of your matter.
Experts must not give advice outside their licence or jurisdiction. If you think one has, tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
8How you may use the service
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to plan or further harm to anyone
- Impersonate someone else, or submit someone else's personal or medical information without their permission
- Ask an Expert for medical, legal or financial advice, or to otherwise act as your retained professional
- Harass, threaten or abuse an Expert or our staff
- Try to contact an Expert outside the platform in order to avoid fees, or solicit them away from it
- Scrape, copy or resell answers, or use them to train a machine-learning model
- Interfere with the site's operation or security, or attempt to access another user's conversation
9Content and licence
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and transmit it as needed to run the service, handle your request, and meet our legal obligations. If we ever want to publish an anonymised version of a question as an example, we will ask you first.
Answers, the site design, our name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You may use answers for your own personal purposes, not republish them.
10Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that an Expert will be available within any particular time, that any answer will be correct or useful, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Response times described on the site are estimates, not commitments.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither AskUs247 nor its officers, employees or contractors is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service — including any decision you make on the basis of an Expert's answer.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the [12] months before the claim, or [$100].
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12Indemnity
You agree to indemnify AskUs247 against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights.
13Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Please contact us first — most problems are settled quickly at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
Decide this with a lawyer
Many US consumer services add a binding arbitration clause and a class-action waiver here. Whether to include one, and how to word the opt-out it must carry to be enforceable, is a decision for your attorney. Do not ship this page with an arbitration clause you have not had reviewed — a defective one is worse than none.
[ARBITRATION / CLASS WAIVER CLAUSE, OR DELETE THIS BOX AND RELY ON THE COURTS OF THE STATE NAMED ABOVE]
14Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and cancel as described in section 6. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or where we must do so by law. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current period.
15General
If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to a successor if the business is sold. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us.
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will email registered members or post a notice at least [14] days before they take effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept them.
